How to Try InterNews without Reading the Instructions
Full instructions for configuring InterNews are given in the Site Default Settings document.
If you just want to try the program out without doing the full set up, follow these steps. You can enter the other settings later.
- The self-extracting archive created a folder containing various InterNews files. Move it to a convenient place on your hard disk.
- Get the address of your news host (IP number or full internet name such as news.mycompany.com) from someone at your site or from your InterNet Service Provider.
- Start the program.
- Enter the news host address in the space provided in the dialog that greets you.
- Click on the Save button.
- A Get File dialog will appear. Click on the New button.
- Relax a few minutes while the program connects to your news host and gets the list of available newsgroups.
- Double-click the icon labeled "Welcome!" to see a couple of newsgroups. Click away to read the articles.

- Double-click the All Newsgroups icon and use cmd-F to find a newsgroup of interest.
